a promotional newspaper highlighting the photography of one of the most remote tribes of africa which exhibited at the leica gallery in los angeles.

alston’s exploration of the yoruba traditions in benin is deeply evocative, capturing practices and traditions centuries deep. the challenge was to let the photos be the narrators of their own stories, while developing a supporting visual language that would compliment his work.
